COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF A STRAW-FIRED POWER PLANT IN THE PROVINCE OF VOJVODINA

Abstract

In recent years, renewable energy sources have played an increasingly important ole in potential energy production. The integration of renewable energy echnologies into existing national energy system has therefore become a major hallenge for many countries. Due to the importance of this matter, this paper eals with the comprehensive analysis for implementation of a power plant on iomass (straw). The analysis is conducted regarding several key indicators: vailability of biomass, regulation, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, ocation, land use, electricity price and social impacts. The analysis also includes avorable price for electricity produced from biomass relevant to national feed in ariffs. In order to demonstrate all above mentioned indicators, the region in erbia (Province of Vojvodina) with significant potential in biomass, especially n straw, is selected. The results of the analysis are validated trough nvironmental and social aspects. Special attention is given to identifying risks or this application.
